FLEAS – THE FACTS
Fleas are not only irritating to humans – they can also cause allergic skin disease in both cats and dogs. These can lead to skin lesions, extreme pain and infection. In puppies and kittens, flea infestation can cause severe blood loss and anemia. Fleas can also transmit tapeworms to our pets.
THE FLEA CYCLE
Adult fleas live on your pet, feeding on blood, breeding and laying up to 50 eggs a day. Adult represent just 5% of the total flea population in your home.
Eggs are laid by adult fleas onto your pet , they then deposit these wherever your pet goes in your home. This is how about half the flea population end up in your carpets, soft furnishings, bedding and even in your car.
Larvae develop from eggs in one to three weeks, and feed on organic matter such as human skin scales and flea faeces. They prefer dark surroundings so borrow into the carpet, upholstery and between the cracks of wooden floors until they pupate.
Pupae are the sticky, silky cocoons from which adult fleas eventually hatch. Hatching is triggered by the warmth of your central heating, humidity and the vibrations from passing people, pets and vacuuming. Pupae hatch in as little as a week, or as long as a year after formation.
CONTROLLING FLEAS
Regular treatment with new Effipro is quick and easy and can keep your dog or cat free of fleas, ticks and biting lice and the irritation they cause. The easy to use non-drip Effipro spot on pipettes are ideal for routine flea and tick control. Treat every four weeks for flea and tick control. The handy spray formulation will also control biting lice.
Given that 95% of the flea population lives off your pet, it is vital to treat your home too: otherwise it will simply provide a constant source of reinfestation.
Fleas may still be re-introduced as your pet socializes outside the home, but regular treatment with Effipro will keep this under control.
REMEMBER !!!
Only 5% of the flea population are adults Effipro kills them and stops them laying eggs
95% are hidden under your soda, beds skirting and floor boards, in your carpets and your pet's bed – Indorex will reach and control these
Pupae are not killed by any insecticidal product, they can only be controlled as they hatch
THE IMPORTANCE OF VACUMING
Regular vaccuming with a high power, high filtration (HEPA) cleaner is also essential to combat the dust mite threat. Their faeces and fragments of their bodies, once killed, remain capable of causing allergic reactions, so must be removed as often as possible. Where you suspect heavy flea infestations, the house should be vaccumed daily for one week after spaying with Indorex.
TICKS - THE FACTS
Ticks are blood – sucking parasites that can cause infections, abscesses and even transmit serious diseases to your pet. The first sign of a tick on your pet is a small grey speck attached to your pet's skin. As the tick feeds on your pets blood it gets larger, sometimes as big as a pea or bean, and can be mistaken for a wart or lump. At this stage it is necessary to visit your vet, but all this is avoidable by treating with Effipro spot on solution.

Indorex kills adult fleas for a full 8 weeks, and house dust mites and also prevents the development of their eggs and larvae. It stops the eggs and flea larvae developing for a full 12 months with a single application.
A complete solution when combined with Effipro spot-on and spray for pets
WHY DO I NEED INDOREX ?
Although an on-pet product helps control household infestations by spreading insecticide on shed skin cells from your treated pet, it doesn't spread as far as the flea larvae which burrow into dark places such as your carpets, under furniture, cracks in floor boards and under skirting boards.
Indorex binds electro-statically to all surfaces, so will not be removed by vacuuming and can be directed to all areas where flea eggs and larvae may be found, providing a full 12 month's protection from flea with one application.
